Looking After Your Health & Wellbeing

We have a range of mental and physical health and wellbeing activities available for people to attend and enjoy! Improving health and wellbeing, managing existing conditions or trying to prevent certain conditions can feel like a challenge, but you don’t have to do it alone. You are promised a warm welcome, useful information and the opportunity to get support and advice. Please come along and try something new! Some of these events and programmes are delivered in the Hamilton Road Community Hub in Bangor, while others are delivered out in communities to make them easy to get to and participate in.

Some examples of activities include:

Chi-Me – Improve your strength, balance and flexibility through this gentle exercise programme. Join us for an hour of invigorating yet relaxing exercise. Derived from Tai Chi, movements are simple, flowing and calming. Helps to improve breathing, aids balance and general well-being. Chi Me is suitable for all levels of fitness. Fridays 9.30am - 10.30am in Skipperstone Community Centre and then again on Fridays 11am - 12pm in Trinity Presbyterian Church Main Street Bangor. Both sessions are facilitated by Greg and all abilities are welcome.

Walking Group – Join Lindsey and the walkers every Monday morning from 10am; it departs from the Train Station in Bangor Centre. The walk usually lasts up to an hour, and it is open to all ages and abilities to participate and we would love to welcome new friends to this group.  We finish off back at the station and people often grab a nice cuppa after.

Yoga – Every Monday 11.30am - 12.30pm at the Fountain Centre or Thursdays 2-3pm in Skipperstone Community Centre. These sessions are facilitated by Karen and are either in the chair or very gentle, making them great for people of all ages and abilities. We promise you won’t be standing on your head or anything too much, but you will feel an improvement in your flexibility, relaxation of your nervous system and might even sleep better.

Ukulele Group - No experts here just a gathering of great enthusiastic people who love to play, learn and teach other ukulele! Even if you can’t play yet, you would be welcome. Fridays 12.30pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church Main Street Bangor.
