Dear Sir/Madam

I am contacting you in regard to Ark Housing Association’s  intended  development of  the above lands, as highlighted on the attached layouts, to provide a new social housing development .

We will be  working in partnership with South Eastern Health and Social Services to deliver a supported housing scheme for tenants with dementia and the frail elderly.

The scheme will include 24 No. one and two bedroom self contained apartments, with appropriate ancillary and staff accommodation to facilitate the day-to-day management of tenants on a 24 hours a day basis.

Ark Housing’s proposed development will be required to meet various policy criteria, including high quality design, sympathetic to the existing built environment.

Our ultimate aim is  to provide a suitable housing scheme to help meet the lifetime housing needs of the groups described above.

We have already contacted the Kilcooley Community Forum ,and local elected representatives and  we are hoping to arrange a community meeting, at a date and place yet to be agreed , to discuss our proposals in the coming weeks.

In addition if you should know of any other  organisations or community groups  with which  you feel we should consult , we could be  grateful if you would please forward the relevant details to Ark Housing  Association by return .

We hope to develop our detailed proposals on the basis of the enclosed layout and have appointed our Design Team to progress the full Planning Application required .

As with all Planning applications the scheme will be subject to public advertisement in due course .

Please note that Ark  Housing is in the process of issuing community consultation letters , including the preliminary site layout drawing , to local residents in the vicinity of the site.
