12 Mar: Volunteer with the Bangor and North Down Samaritans

24 Feb

If you think Volunteering with the Samaritans might be for you, why don’t you come along to our information morning being held on Saturday 12th March, at 10am, at 92 Dufferin Avenue, Bangor.

The Bangor and North Down Samaritans is making a plea to members of the local community to sign up to support people who might not have anywhere else to turn.  If you just have a few spare hours per week they would like to hear from you.

Based on Dufferin Avenue the Branch currently has 65 volunteers and is looking to recruit more people to ensure the branch can continue to offer services to the local community.  Samaritans offer round-the-clock emotional support for anyone struggling to cope. The confidential service is offered by phone ,email, text , letter and face-to-face.  The Samaritans are looking for listening volunteers but are also looking for volunteers with administrative and IT skills, and those who can organise fundraising and Outreach activities.
