We’ve 2 places left!
From 2pm in the NDCN Community Hub Workshop, in Bangor’s Flagship. “Dementia can happen to anyone and there is currently no cure. But with the right support, people can live well with dementia. Whether you belong to a men’s group, youth club, church group, run a local shop, volunteer in your community café or just want to be a good neighbour – everyone can play their part to ensure that people with dementia feel understood, valued and able to contribute to their community. Dementia Friendly Communities is a programme developed by The Alzheimer’s Society to create dementia friendly communities in villages, towns and cities across Northern Ireland. We need to create more communities and businesses that are dementia friendly so that people affected by dementia are understood and included. This session will help you to:
- Develop your knowledge and understanding of dementia;
- Increase your confidence and skills to help you relate, communicate and support someone with dementia;
- Think about the physical environment of your space from a dementia perspective; and
- Become a Dementia Friend.
Participants who complete the session will receive a Alzheimer’s Society Certificate and a Dementia Friends badge.” Please email email@example.com or phone 9146 1386.
